Ying Zhang
MSS, LSW
Psychotherapist
As a Chinese immigrant and non-binary therapist, Ying specializes in working with queer and trans adults, families of color, and immigrant households. Ying aims to create a therapeutic space for clients to discuss any challenges they may face and meet them where they are at. They approach their sessions through an anti-racist, queer-affirming, and trans-affirming, practice through a trauma informed and client centered lens.
Prior to Walnut, Ying was a steering committee member for Philadelphia Asian and Queer (PAQ), a social and support group for those that identify as LGBTQ+ and Asian/Asian American. Additionally, Ying has worked for the Mazzoni Center as an HIV/STI tester and community health coordinator by promoting sexual health and awareness to Philadelphia-area universities.
