Group Therapy

Group therapy provides a unique opportunity for healing. Just like individual therapy, groups meet once a week at the same time each week. These are closed groups, which means that you'll meet with the same group of people each week. This is a way to make deep connections with people who share similar struggles.

Now accepting new members!

Transfemme Therapy Group

The Transfemme Therapy Group is an ongoing weekly psychotherapy group designed to offer a safe and affirming space for trans women, nonbinary transfeminine people, agender individuals, intersex folks, and those who are questioning their identity. This group welcomes adults ages 18 and older.

This group would be especially helpful for people who are: relatively early (<2 years) in their transition, are questioning and might need a gentle push or direction, came out in some form or another during COVID lockdown, are currently navigating some form of significant life change, and do not have active connections to other transfems as part of their social support network.

In person group: Mondays at 5:30PM EST

Telehealth group: Wednesdays at 10AM EST

Facilitated by Staff Therapist Liz Thomas (she/they), an autistic trans woman with personal and professional experience in addiction, harm reduction, and recovery, this group promises to be a supportive environment where participants can explore and discuss the transfem experience.

Making space for ourselves:
an experiential group for us

Unsure of how to hold everything happening? Experiencing a range of emotions and feeling like you're just surviving each day makes sense given the current state of our world. Along with navigating ongoing oppression, we are also managing relationships, tending to old wounds, and exploring new desires.

This group is a space for Black people to slow down, be real about what feels heavy, and explore what might still be possible. It asks: what does a liberated future feel, sound, and taste like? And when violence and harm are present, how do we name it, respond to it, and care for what it leaves behind?

This group will use experiential methods and psychodrama to explore current relationships, oppressive environments, and internal needs.

Together, we will create space to honor pain while experimenting with new ways of relating to ourselves.

In person group: Tuesdays, 6:00PM-7:30PM EST

Dates: August 18, 2026 to September 22nd, 2026

Facilitated by Staff Therapist Danielle Croom, LCSW (she/they).

Danielle is driven to create spaces where people recognize and reconnect with their inherent worth. "I deeply value the power of groups because of the mutual aid, connection, and creativity that can happen when people come together with intention."

Danielle has experience working in various settings, like residential treatment, nonprofit program management, education, intimate partner violence work, and long-term outpatient therapy. Across these spaces, Danielle has worked with diverse communities, always centering softness and collaboration.
