Walnut Psychotherapy Center is seeking a compassionate and highly organized individual to serve as our intake coordinator.

We’re seeking someone with a strong understanding of, and commitment to, working with LGBTQ+ communities, who can navigate complex systems and clinical presentations with compassion and clarity. This role is key in supporting new clients as they begin their therapeutic journey with us.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initial Assessment Process: Gather client information, including demographics, clinical history, and insurance details.

• Scheduling & Referrals: Schedule initial appointments with therapists and make appropriate referrals when needed.

​​

• Client Communication: Respond to client inquiries, provide clear information about services, and offer guidance throughout the intake process.

​​

• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of intake information, client interactions, and the transfer process.

​​

Criteria & Expectations:

• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Walnut’s mission: providing long-term, LGBTQ+-affirming, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming care.
   

• Capacity to hold space for nuance and complexity in therapy; ability to meet diverse client experiences with compassion and insight.
   

• Excellent communication and customer service skills; able to build trust and rapport with clients.
   

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage documentation, track appointments, and work well under pressure.
   

• Collaborative, open to feedback, and eager to work closely with both clinical and administrative teams.
   

• Professional, respectful, and empathetic in interactions with both clients and staff.
   

• Comfortable navigating multiple tech platforms, including Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, etc. and is open to learning electronic health record (EHR) systems.
